How does the pageant work?
Shoreline Showstopper is based on a traditional pageant format that consists of 3 sections.
Debut : Less then 2 years experience in the pin up scene and have never placed in or entered a pageant before.
Intermediate : Between 2-4 years experience in the pin up scene and have been a finalist in other pageants.
Classic : 4+ years in the pin up scene OR have placed as a runner up or won other pageants (including online).

What do the sections consist of?
Debut: A one (1) minute on stage routine where the finalist will include 3 × Three (3) second pin up poses on seperate stage marks.
Intermediate: A one (1) minute on stage routine where the finalist will include 4 × Three (3) second pin up poses.
Classic: One and a half (1.5) minute on stage routine where the finalist will include 5 × Three (3) second pin up poses.
As well as a question and answer section, that consists of one random question to be answered from a set list available to the finalists in advance.

What is the judging criteria?
All finalists will be judged on a mix of the following:
- How they interact with the crowd throughout the day of the pageant
- If they wear their finalist sash througout the day of the pageant.
- Meeting the posing criteria for each level
- Musicality
- Costuming/outfit
Additional judging criteria:
Intermediate: Eye contact & Judge Interaction
Classic: Eye contact, Crowd and Judge Interaction as well as Question and Answer.

I've never done a pageant before, what do I do?
Never fear! Enter as a debut - All finalists in the debut category will have access to extra coaching materials to make sure they are ready to go up on stage from the finalist facebook group.

Is this pageant just for women?
No, we celebrate all genders that form part of the pin up culture and encourage you to enter.
**Please note we are not an Elvis pageant and focus more on a “dapper” style of presentation.

Is there an age restriction?
All entrants to this pageant must be 18 years or older to enter.

Who wins?
Based on a combination of judges scores there will be one winner and one runner up in each section. We will also be selecting other winners in the following categories: Best Social Media, Congeniality award (chosen by the finalists), Crowd Favourite (Chosen by the crowd).

Do I have to wear authentic vintage?
Vintage is encouraged, but not a necessity - we encourage any dress that reflects what “pin up means to you”. Reproduction and sub genre outfits will be accepted.

Is there an entry fee?
Yes, there is a $20 entry fee for all entrants and a $20 finalist fee for all finalists. This is to help with prize, sash and crown costs.

Can we use props?
Yes, small handheld props are acceptable - not props that are large or require any form of set up or pack down are accepted.
